PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE:
Essie practises in commercial and public law.
Before coming to the Bar, Essie worked as a senior associate in commercial disputes at Allens, in Perth and Melbourne, and as a solicitor at the State Solicitor’s Office of Western Australia. She was previously an associate to the Hon. Justice James Edelman at the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
Essie has acted in a range of commercial and public matters, including in class actions, complex commercial disputes, regulatory matters, environmental litigation, native title cases, anti-discrimination matters and judicial review proceedings. She has advised and represented financial institutions, energy providers, resources companies, professional services firms and government entities.
Essie holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Western Australia, and a Master of Laws with Distinction from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
