PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE:
Edward has a broad practice in commercial and public law.
Edward commenced his legal career as the associate in the Federal Court before joining the State Solicitor's Office as a graduate, where he practised for eight years, ultimately as an Assistant State Solicitor. After the State Solicitor's Office and before joining the Bar, Edward practised as a Senior Associate at MinterEllison and Allens.
Edward’s experience includes disputes involving mining projects, construction projects, joint ventures, shareholders, trusts, insolvency, judicial review and constitutional law challenges. He also has experience in various applications under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), including schemes of arrangements. Edward has appeared in courts and tribunals including the Supreme Court, Federal Court and High Court. He has also appeared in domestic and international arbitrations.
Edward is often briefed as junior counsel, but also has interlocutory, trial and appellate experience as sole counsel in courts and tribunals including the Supreme Court, Federal Court, Warden's Court, State Administrative Tribunal and Administrative Review Tribunal.
Edward currently lectures in Civil Procedure at the University of Western Australia. He has also tutored in other units at the University of Western Australia, including Commercial Remedies, Administrative Law and Constitutional Law. He has published on various topics, including evidence law, administrative law and constitutional law.
Edward holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.
