Joseph Garas SC has a practice in commercial litigation. He regularly acts in disputes arising out of commercial contracts, with a focus on mining, energy and resources, and major construction projects, and also has substantial experience in banking, insolvency, directors’ duties and professional liability.
In addition, over the last decade, Joseph has regularly acted in large-scale international and domestic arbitrations.
Joseph joined the Bar in 2007 and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2019. Prior to becoming a barrister, he had a commercial litigation practice at Allens Arthur Robinson.
He was educated at the University of Western Australia, and while in practice returned to tutor students for some years.
