PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE:
Steven is an experienced commercial litigator and has appeared in superior courts across Australia and in domestic and international arbitrations.
He has represented major banks, insurers and resource companies in a broad range of significant commercial disputes where large amounts, or serious consequences, were at stake. Steven has advised company directors, external administrators and trustees, both private and charitable.
His practice covers complex commercial disputes across a range of industries including contractual disputes between joint venturers, applications for judicial directions to trustees, applications for judicial review of administrative decisions, lender liability disputes, and company law applications involving director’s duties and obligations to account for company funds. Steven has acted for local and international clients in many matters involving cross-border issues and offshore investors.
Prior to joining the bar, Steven was a senior associate in the commercial litigation division of Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Perth.
He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from The University of Western Australia and his Master of Laws from The University of Melbourne. In 2004, Steven was the associate to the Hon. Justice Lee of the Federal Court of Australia.
